locavore -- Gretchen

Definition of LOCAVORE

:  one who eats foods grown locally whenever possible

Origin of LOCAVORE

local + -vore (as in carnivore)
First Known Use: 2005

I'm not sure what Connecticut grows other than money on money trees, but if Gretchen were a locavore in Colonial Connecticut she would have eaten a lot of  herbs, flax, Maize (corn), and beans--no gummy bears.

Thanks for the definition to http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/locavore
