fug -- Willie

fug (fg)
n.
A heavy, stale atmosphere, especially the musty air of an overcrowded or poorly ventilated room: "In spite of the open windows the stench had become a reeking fug" (Colleen McCullough).

[Perhaps alteration of fogo, stench.]
